I usually don't write reviews for things but I was compelled to write one for this just to warn people. So I was pretty excited to get this item for my new home but unfortunately during assembly, things just didn't fit together.
First of all, it's more of a lighter reddish brown than what is shown in the picture. Having dark brown hardwood floors, this makes it look pretty awkward. The installation part was also pretty painful. There were pre-drilled holes that weren't big enough for the cam screws it came with. I had to use a filer to sand down the holes to make things fit. I also had to use the provided wood glue for the dowels. It's not that big of a problem, but it was something that caught me off guard.
The most FRUSTRATING part was when it was time to slide the drawer into the unit...IT JUST DIDN'T FIT!! I followed the instructions and made sure the bearings were slid to the front before inserting and it just didn't fit. After about an hour I was finally able to force it in, but by then the sides of the drawer were heavily scraped up on the sides by the rails. The box it came with was already pretty banged up and I don't know how easy it is to break down the item to return it (wood glue in various parts). So I guess I'm stuck w/a $400+ item that looks funny in my living room. I truly regret getting this. =(
